CHANDLER, Ariz. - Family, friends, comrades and a grateful community all gathered to pay respect to a fallen Chandler police officer.

Memorial services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Mission Community Church and wrapped up around 11:30 a.m.

The procession then headed to Sun Mortuary and Cemetery off Chandler Heights Road where he was laid to rest.

The 34-year-old husband and father of two has often been described as the perfect cop.

He served eight years in the marines and was with the Chandler police for the last three years.

The undercover officer was killed last week during a large scale drug bust gone bad.

About a dozen Chandler police officers were in south Phoenix attempting to sell 500 pounds of marijuana for a quarter of a million dollars.

Their buyers instead opened fire injuring two officers and killing Officer Ledesma.

Two of the suspects were also killed.

One suspect remains in the hospital and the other five are now in custody and looking at a list of charges including three counts of first degree murder.

Tuesday night a visitation was held at Chandler Center for the Arts for a public viewing for Officer Carlos Ledesma.

On Tuesday, August 10 a car wash is being held at the Danny's Crossroads Location at Gilbert Road and Germann Road with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Ledesma family. Also a memorial fund has been established at Wells Fargo Bank under 'Officer Ledesma Family Memorial Fund'.
