Charges filed against hospitalized suspect in connection with officer's death

UPDATE: A suspect in the officer involved shooting who suffered injuries is out of the hospital and in police custody.
Christopher Gonzales, 33, faces first degree murder, possession of a weapon during a drug transaction and possession of marijuana for sale.
Gonzales has been booked into jail.
CHANDLER, Ariz. – Charges have been filed against several suspects in connection with the shooting death of Chandler Police Officer Carlos Ledesma.
A news release from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office says the investigation into the fatal shootout is ongoing and additional charges could be filed.
County Attorney Rick Romley says, “My thoughts and prayers are with Officer Ledesma’s family and the entire Chandler Police Department. This is an incredibly difficult time, and I promise that our office will prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law.”
Jerry Wayne Cockhearn Jr., Eldridge Auzzele Gittens, Doarnell Reuna Jackson, Thandika Taweh Singleton and John Howard Webber face 11 counts including first-degree murder, felony murder, attempted armed robbery, attempted sale of marijuana, misconduct involving weapons and conspiracy.
