Police ID victim in possible road-rage shootingPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Phoenix police released the identity of a man shot and killed in a possible road range incident Sunday.
The victim is identified as 27-year-old Jesus Carrasco. Police say Carrasco passed away Sunday afternoon.
The shooting happened when the victim, his girlfriend and their two children were driving in their pickup truck and stopped at a traffic light. The man reportedly got into a verbal altercation with a male driver also stopped at the intersection.
Both drivers headed eastbound on I-10 and the victim's girlfriend heard a popping sound. She told police her boyfriend had been shot in the back of the head.
Detectives have very little information to go on and are asking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect, believed to be an Hispanic man in his 20s.
The suspect was driving a black two-door car similar to a Chevy Cavalier. That car has custom rims.
