Man gets prison for robbing Arizona post officePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- An Apache Junction man has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for the armed robbery of a Bullhead City post office last September.
Federal prosecutors say 64-year-old Donallen Leroy McFarlin pleaded guilty to one count of armed postal robbery. He was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix.
Authorities say McFarlin entered the post office in Bullhead City on Sept. 11, displayed a handgun and demanded all the cash from the worker on duty. He drove off with $778, but witnesses saw him and were able to get his license plate number. McFarlin was later arrested in Laughlin, Nev., and authorities say he confessed to the robbery.
