Two Maricopa men behind bars for allegedly committing drive-by shooting

MARICOPA, Ariz. – Two men are behind bars and face charges including drive-by shooting and endangerment.

Maricopa police say they responded to a call of shots fired in the early morning hours of June 19 in the 43000 block of Rio Bravo in the Rancho ElDorado residential community.

Upon arrival officers found several bullet holes in the family’s car that was parked outside the home. There was also a bullet hole in the residence.

Police say nobody in the home was injured as a result of the shooting but there was property damage.

During the investigation Maricopa police were able to identify several individuals as allegedly being involved in the drive-by shooting.

Police served three separate search warrants at homes in Maricopa and found pieces of evidence that linked the subjects to the shooting. Among the items was a handgun.

Stanley K. Cox, 22, and 18-year-old Diego Rodriguez, both of Maricopa, were identified as suspects and arrested.

They are in the Pinal County Jail facing various felony charges including drive-by shooting, endangerment and criminal damage.

Police say there is no evidence that the shooting was gang-related.
