More wolves may head back to Arizona

Thousands more wolves may soon roam wild across Arizona. A petition filed Tuesday by the Tucson-based Center for Biological Diversity seeks to return gray wolves to their native habitats, including the western deserts and the forests of New England.

Only about 6,000 of the predators remain in the lower 48 states, largely due to traps and poisons in the last century.
