PHOENIX -- A collision early Wednesday morning sent two Phoenix police officers to the hospital.
According to Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump, the officers were driving southbound on 59th Avenue at the McDowell Road intersection at 4 a.m. when the driver of a Buick Regal made an abrupt left turn in front of them.
The driver, whose name was not released, wasn't hurt in the collision, but she was cited for failure to yield and not having a driver's license. Investigators were checking for signs of impairment.
The officers sustained minor injuries from the airbags. They were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
