Mesa veteran who lost leg in Iraq about to get state-of-the-art limb

MESA, Ariz. – A Mesa war veteran who lost his leg years ago in Iraq is getting a new state –of-the-art limb to replace it.

Three years ago Monday Nick Williams lost his right leg when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded.

Thanks to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Williams will get a new leg that looks just like it, even down to the skin tone.

He says, "You can walk around, wear sandals, do different things without people turning their heads looking at you wondering what happened and stuff like that. Eventually it’s just gonna be another leg I can just walk around and have fun with."

Williams will fly out this week to be fitted for the new leg and he should receive it in about two weeks.
