Glendale police investigate homicide after body found in carPosted: Updated:
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Glendale police are investigating a homicide near 67th and Grand avenues.
Police received a call about a shooting at one of the businesses in the area at about 11:30 Wednesday night.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man in his mid-30s who had been shot. That man was pronounced dead on the scene.
The body was discovered in the back seat of a maroon Mitsubishi. That vehicle is situated in such a manner that investigators believe it might have been leaving one of the businesses in the area at the time of the shooting.
"We are treating this as a homicide scene at this time," said Karen Gerardo of the Glendale Police Department.
Police on the scene said they believe they know who the man is, but they will not release any information about him until they can confirm his identity and notify his next of kin.
Detectives do not have any suspect information at this point.
The investigation is ongoing.
