Mesa doctor pleads not guilty to sexual abuse chargesPosted: Updated:
MESA, Ariz. -- A Mesa doctor accused of sexually abusing female patients pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning.
Dr. Gabriel Ogbonnaya of Healing Touch Internal Medicine pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual assault and 13 counts of sexual abuse.
Ogbonnaya was originally arrested on June 9 after two female patients claimed the doctor touched them inappropriately during office visits. At that time, he was still allowed to practice with a licensed female practitioner present in the room.
Six additional victims came forward and gave similar information as to their office visits and Ogbonnaya was re-arrested.
The Arizona Medical Board suspended Ogbonnaya's medical license June 30.
His next court date is Aug. 26.
