Life sentence for Tucson man; TPD officer sentenced; Inmate suicides

A Tucson man who strangled his girlfriend before burning her body and burying it in the desert, will spend life in prison.

Eric Hill was convicted in may of killing Angela Gayden two years ago. Her body was found near interstate 10 and Wilmot road.

Hill claims he's innocent but a woman testified that she helped dispose of Gayden's body.


A former Tucson Police Officer will spend 18-months on probation for computer tampering. 46-year-old Edwin Richards, a 16-year veteran of TPD, was accessing restricted databases. Two other officers have been charged with the same crime in the last year.


Two Arizona prison inmates killed themselves in their cells. 29-year-old Robert Medina was serving 15 years for kidnapping and armed robbery.

And 26-year-old Anthony Lester was serving a 12-year sentence for aggravated assault. He died after being taken to the hospital.
