Arizona speed cameras going awayPosted: Updated:
Speed cameras across Arizona are going to stop flashing this week.
The state's photo radar program ends Thursday. 76 state financed cameras on highways will be shut off.
Governor Jan Brewer decided not to renew the state's two-year contract with Redflex Traffic Systems.
State officials expected the program to generate $90M in it's first year, but it generated only $37M. Several cities, however, will continue to use red light cameras and photo radar vans, including Tucson .
