Excessive heat warning for greater Phoenix areaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX --The heat is on again in the Phoenix area. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning until 8 p.m. Saturday.
Forecasters predict daytime temperatures ranging from 110 to 115 degrees with very warm overnight low temperatures ranging from the mid 80s to around 90 degrees through Saturday.
The weather service urges residents to complete any necessary outdoor activity in the early morning when the sun and heat are less intense.
To cope with the heat, drink lots of water, wear light-colored and loose fitting clothes and try and stay in the shade.
Forecaster Ken Watters with the National Weather Service in Phoenix tells The Associated Press there's a 30 percent chance of storms Saturday.
Slightly cooler temperatures are predicted Sunday with the high at 107 degrees.
