Fire guts West Valley mobile homePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Firefighters spent the morning sifting through the remnants of a mobile home after an early morning fire near 71st and Grand avenues.
A grandmother, her daughter and two grandchildren lived in the mobile home. They are out of town so the home was empty when the fire started.
No injuries were reported, but the home was destroyed.
"These trailers go up pretty quickly," said Randy Rodriguez of the Glendale Fire Department.
Firefighters said the incident is an excellent reminder about the importance of working smoke detectors and a planned escape route.
