Detectives investigating homicide at Glendale homePosted: Updated:
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Police officers spent Thursday morning on the scene of a Glendale home where a man had been shot to death.
Police received a 911 call just before 2 a.m. That caller reported a robbery and possible shooting.
The call came from a cell phone and hit a Phoenix cell tower so it was relayed from the Phoenix Police Department to Glendale.
"With a little research between both agencies, we came up with an address," said Sgt. Brent Coombs of the Glendale Police Department.
When officers arrived at the rental home in the neighborhood of 67th and Missouri avenues, they discovered the victim -- a man believed to be in his 30s. Nobody else was at the home when police got there, Coombs said.
A neighbor said he heard a loud vehicle racing away from the scene at about the time the 911 call was made.
Investigators are searching the scene for evidence. Video showed several evidence markers outside the home and in the street. Detectives are also looking for the person who made that 911 call.
