Police release surveillance photos in search for Mesa bank robbery suspect

MESA , Ariz. -- Police are searching for the suspect in a Mesa bank robbery.

According to investigators, the suspect -- a white male -- walked into the Desert Schools Federal Credit Union on Alma School Road south of Baseline Road the afternoon of Friday, July 2.

The man, believed to be in his early 20s, approached a teller and demanded money as he handed her a note.

The suspect was given cash. He then fled the scene on foot.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect.

The man is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing between 135 and 140 pounds. He has a thin build and was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt under a gray long-sleeve Tommy Hilfiger shirt, a dark gray Desert Fox hat, and light blue jeans. He also had a black bandanna around his neck and was wear clear plastic safety glasses.

The teller did not report seeing a weapon, nor did anybody see a vehicle.
