Grijalva disagrees with war funding billPosted: Updated:
Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva plans to vote against President Obama's funding request for the war in Afghanistan.
$33B are earmarked for continued troop presence in afghanistan. Grijalva claims there is no clear strategy for the war and too many lives are being lost. He accuses the administration of continuing "funding gimmicks."
"This war has to be paid for. It can't come off the backs of social security, medicare, programs people need and want," says Grijalva.
Grijalva points to a gallop poll stating 58% of Americans favor withdrawing troops entirely by next July.
Meanwhile, Grijalva and a group of lawmakers will discuss policy alternatives.
