The campaign to permanently remove speed cameras from roadsides in Arizona, hit a speed bump Thursday.

Organizers today revealed they have come up about 33,000 signatures short of the 153,000 they need to get the referendum on the November ballot.

Speed cameras are already leaving Arizona freeways after governor brewer decided not to renew the state's two-year old speed camera program.

Still, local governments use cameras to ticket speeders and red-light runners.
