Former Mesa police officer sentenced to 682 years for sex crimes

MARICOPA, Ariz. -- A former Mesa police officer convicted of sex crimes was sentenced Monday to 682 consecutive years in prison.
On June 1, a Pinal County jury found Justin Bowman, 31, guilty on 32 counts, including child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, public sexual indecency, and furnishing harmful items to a minor.
Police originally arrested Bowman in 2008 while responding to an alleged suicide attempt by him. His wife told police officers that she found child pornography on their home computer.
During the investigation, police learned of the sex crimes involving a 10-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl.
On Monday, a Pinal County Superior Court judge sentenced Bowman to the maximum sentence of 15 consecutive life terms in prison.
