TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- A Tucson Rincon High School teacher has been arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Police arrested 32-year-old Jennifer Whiting Friday morning.

The teacher allegedly sent inappropriate sexual photos of herself to the boy. Police were notified by the boy's father.

Police issued a news release saying Whiting left her minor children at home early Friday to meet the alleged victim. Detectives then took Whiting into custody.

The Rincon High Web site lists Whiting as an English teacher.

Whiting was booked into Pima County Jail on one count of furnishing harmful items to a minor.

A records clerk said Whiting had her initial court appearance Friday morning.

The Associated Press called the Tucson Unified School District Friday seeking comment. The District is yet to comment or issue a statement.
