Power restored to APS customers in North Phoenix

PHOENIX - APS customers who live in the north Phoenix area around Desert Ridge shopping center had to deal with a power outage Wednesday night.

The area affected was between Union Hills Road on the south to Pinnacle Peak Road  on the north and 32nd St. on the west  to Scottsdale Road on the east.

The area encompases about 4,100 people who were without power.

According to APS the outage was due to a transformer problem, which started with a loud bang according to residents in the area.

The power was restored to all the affected homes by 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
