SELIGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- The wreckage of a small plane that took off in New Mexico last week and disappeared has been found in northern Arizona. The pilot was dead.
Searchers with the Civil Air Patrol found the Beech Bonanza crashed atop a mountain about 8 miles from Seligman.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford says the plane took off from Los Alamos, N.M., on Friday and stopped for fuel in Santa Fe. It was reported missing on Saturday and a search was launched.
The identity of the pilot has not been released. The plane was registered to a Los Alamos resident.
Seligman is about 50 miles west of Flagstaff.
