3 Armed suspects break into Phoenix home, tie up residentsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Three suspects are in custody after a home invasion in Phoenix Wednesday night.
According to Phoenix police, three armed suspects forced their way into a home near 31st Avenue and Van Buren Street and tied up all six people who were inside.
The suspects ransacked the place and stole jewelry and other items.
Officers found out about this crime after a 911 hang-up call.
The suspects were loading up their vehicle when officers arrived. They tried to run, but officers were able to take all three into custody.
Investigators are looking into why this house was targeted.
"They didn't know who these people were, what they wanted, why they were at their house, that's still under investigation," said Phoenix police Sgt. Marcus Virgil. "It appeared that the suspects could have been watching the house for a little while."
One of the victims was hit with a gun but was not seriously hurt.
One suspect was bitten by a police dog and was taken to a hospital.
