PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – Two drivers presumed to be under the influence were busted during the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Click it or Ticket campaign.

On June 3 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a silver SUV for speeding on Robert Road in Prescott Valley. Both occupants were 14 years old and allegedly under the influence of marijuana.

The car belonged to the passenger’s parents whom deputies say were unaware the vehicle had been taken from their house. The parents chose to seek charges. The teen that was driving faces DUI charges and the passenger faces theft of means of transportation.

Three days later on June 6 a deputy stopped to talk to the driver of a stalled Ford Bronco on Granite Gardens Drive, also in Prescott.

YCSO says a witness had seen the driver try to move his stalled vehicle before jumping out as it began to roll backwards. While talking to the driver, identified as 41-year-old Clifford St. Pierre, the deputy saw a can of beer on the floorboard of the vehicle.

St. Pierre reportedly admitted to drinking several beers and failed various sobriety tests. His alcohol content level was three times the legal limit and he was arrested for DUI.

Yavapai County’s Click it or Ticket campaign was in effect between May 24 and June 6 along with most law enforcement agencies across the state.
