More information about Sierra Vista soldier; Memorial services for Airmen

Posted: Updated:

We know more about Specialist Christian Adams, the army soldier from Sierra Vista, who died last week in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He deployed three months ago in support of operation enduring freedom. And he was a well-decorated serviceman.

The U.S. Army hasn't said how he died, but it wasn't in combat. He'd been with the 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade in Fort Hood, Texas since 2008.

Memorial services for the two airmen killed in the line of duty also in Kandahar, Afghanistan will be held Wednesday.

Tech Sgt. Michael Flores and Senior Airman Benjamin White died last week in a helicopter crash.

Both were para-rescuemen assigned to Davis-Monthan's 48th Rescue Squadron. Again, the memorial service happens Wednesday morning.
