PHOENIX -- New ramp meters that help rush hour traffic merge onto busy Phoenix-area freeways are up and running for the Monday morning drive.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said the new meters are operating along Interstate 17 onramps north of Loop 101.
Existing ramp meters along U.S. 60 in Tempe will be reactivated now that new lanes are open following a freeway widening project.
ADOT said the new southbound I-17 ramp meters will run from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekday mornings.
Westbound U.S. 60 ramp meters will be on from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. weekday mornings.
