Man arrested after pistol fired outside Scottsdale bar

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Police arrested a man who allegedly fired a pistol outside a Scottsdale bar Wednesday night.

According to Scottsdale police Officer David Pubins, Rene Tello, 40, was ejected from Shotgun Betty's near Stetson Drive and Drinkwater Boulevard due to intoxication. As he left, he reportedly exchanged words with another man.

As Tello and his friends entered their vehicle, witnesses reported seeing Tello discharge several rounds from a semi-automatic pistol into the air.

Tello drove away westbound on Stetson Drive. Officers spotted his vehicle in the parking lot of Martini Ranch and made a traffic stop.

Tello was arrested and held on charges of misconduct with a weapon, endangerment and DUI.

No one was injured.
