SCOTTSDALE -- Scottsdale police arrested a burglary suspect who was found hiding in an air duct in a Subway restaurant Sunday morning.

Scottsdale police were called to the Subway near Chaparral and Hayden roads after the business manager went into work Sunday and found the cash register had been damaged.

There reportedly was a large hole in the drywall between the eatery and the vacant business next door.

As investigators were on scene, they heard noises coming from the roof and a man was found hiding in an air duct.

Benjamin Niederheuser, 28, of Mesa, was removed and items from the Subway, including cash, were recovered from inside the duct work.

Niederheuser was taken into custody and booked on trespassing, criminal damage, possession of drug paraphernalia and burglary charges.
