TEMPE -- A homicide suspect was arrested Monday night after a restaurant employee called police to report he was inside a Tempe eatery.
Tempe police officers had been searching for Wade Eugene Bradford, 49, after a woman was killed Saturday night near University and Priest drives.
Tempe police Sgt. Steve Carbajal said Bradford and Natalie Allan, 27, had dated for some time and were separating.
Allan reportedly went to Bradford's home to pick up some of her belongings Saturday night when police say she was confronted by Bradford, who allegedly shot her once with a handgun. Allan died at the scene.
Police said Bradford fled on foot.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. Monday, Tempe police patrol officers responded to the Oregano's located near University Drive and Roosevelt Street after an employee called police to report that Bradford was inside the restaurant.
Carbajal said Bradford had been seen previously in the business. The employee had also seen media reports that police were looking for Bradford related to a homicide.
Bradford was booked into Tempe City Jail and is facing a first-degree murder charge.
