PHOENIX – The woman who called police to report Danny Martinez, the man suspected of shooting and killing Officer Travis Murphy, says in her first interview that she had no idea her phone call would lead to such tragic events.

Roberta Bailey says Martinez smashed into her car around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday before driving off so she called police.

A few minutes later she tells 3TV she heard gunshots. “I heard him holler ‘Get down, get down, get down.’  Then all I heard was ‘Bam, bam, bam’ and I seen him laying down right here."

Bailey calls the murder of Officer Murphy stupid and senseless.
