Winds bring potential for wildfires across ArizonaPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF -- Forest officials across northern Arizona are warning campers to take extreme caution with fire during what's expected to be a windy weekend.
Officials say fire crews are ready to respond to any fires, but recreationists should do their part to help prevent them.
That includes building campfires in appropriate locations, and bringing along shovels and water to put them out.
Officials also urge caution with cigarettes, charcoal grills and catalytic converters.
They say wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour easily could spread embers and create fast-moving wildfires.
