LITCHFIELD PARK -- Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium is welcoming some four-legged additions.

The zoo announced the birth of a male reticulated giraffe and two female Bengal tigers.

According to Dr. Grey Stafford, the approximately 6-foot-tall giraffe is doing well under the close watch of his attentive mother. Stafford said over the next few weeks, zookeepers will continue the process of introducing mother and son to the rest of the herd on public display.

The two Bengal (Indian) tiger cubs join a young lioness, a red kangaroo joey, and an endangered ocelot on display at the Wildlife World Baby Animal Nursery.

Other new arrivals include several types of endangered antelope, primates such as ring-tailed lemurs, and spider and patas monkeys.

Stafford said the Wildlife World Aquarium has seen its numbers increase with the hatching of two 6- to 8-inch-long banded cat sharks.

Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium is located at 16501 W. Northern Ave. in Litchfield Park. For more information, call 623-935-WILD (9453) or visit www.Wildlifeworld.com.
