CORDES LAKES, Ariz. -- A woman poured beer over her boyfriend's head and repeatedly hit him with a frying pan during a fight at their Cordes Lakes home Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, Janet Beekman, 54, started arguing about relationship issues with her 53-year-old boyfriend as she packed her belongings to move.

Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn said Beekman began yelling and poured a beer over her boyfriend's head. She then picked up a frying pan and hit him several times in the head and upper body.

The victim tried to grab his cell phone to call the Sheriff's Office, but Beekman reportedly pulled the phone away and broke it in half. The man was able to go next door and call for help.

D'Evelyn said the victim sustained injuries to his head and arms but refused medical treatment.

Deputies said Beekman admitted drinking alcoholic beverages prior to the argument and admitted assaulting her boyfriend.

Beekman was arrested and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on several charges, including assault per domestic violence, criminal damage, disorderly conduct and a felony charge of interfering with judicial proceedings. The felony charge is based on recommendations from the county attorney due to several prior occurrences and convictions involving Beekman and similar charges.

Beekman remains in custody on a $20,000 bond and is due in court on May 25.
