SCOTTSDALE -- A former employee at a Scottsdale medical practice was sentenced to two years in jail and ordered to pay restitution for embezzling thousands of dollars.

According to the Attorney General's Office, Kacee Sissener, 29, of San Diego, Calif., embezzled more than $265,000 while she was the office manager of a Scottsdale medical practice.

Sissener had access to her employer's bank account and over an 18-month period, she embezzled money from the account to pay her personal American Express bills, according to the Attorney General's Office. She purchased high-end purses, spa treatments, computers and vacations, all while receiving her annual salary of more than $80,000.

Sissener was extradited to Arizona last year to face criminal charges. She had pleaded guilty to fraudulent schemes and artifices and theft.

Sissener was sentenced to two years in the Maricopa County Jail. Judge Roland Steinle also ordered that Sissener be placed on seven years of supervised probation and pay $265,196 in restitution to her former employer.

Failure to pay the restitution or violation of any of her other terms of probation could result in Sissener being sentenced to prison for up to 16 years.
