2 Masked suspects steal car after Surprise man pulls into his driveway

SURPRISE -- Surprise police officers are investigating after two masked men reportedly stole a vehicle as the owner pulled into his driveway early Wednesday morning.

According to the Surprise Police Department, the owner of a 2010 Lexus and two occupants pulled into the driveway of their home near Greenway Road and 136th Lane at approximately 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Surprise police Lt. Penny Riherd said the residents were approached by two males wearing masks. One reportedly was armed with a handgun. The vehicle's owner, Jorge Acosta, was ordered to give the car keys to the men or they would shoot him. The suspects then fled with the car.

Officers looked for the silver 2010 Lexus 125 in the surrounding areas but did not find it or the carjackers.

The suspects were described as dark skinned males wearing dark-colored ski masks and short-sleeved shirts. One was described as approximately 6 feet tall and approximately 170 pounds.
