AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A fire department official says five of six teenage girls involved in a car accident in Avondale were hurt, but only one was seriously injured.

Avondale Fire Department spokesman Art Snapp says two sedans collided at the intersection of 99th Avenue and Indian School Road just after noon on Tuesday.

One sedan was occupied by six teens who had just finished their final exams for the day. Snapp says one was uninjured, four were taken to hospitals by ambulance and one girl was flown by helicopter because emergency crews believe she may be seriously hurt.

The male driver of the other car wasn't injured.
