SCOTTSDALE -- Scottsdale police officers arrested a man who reportedly fired a gun at two women during a fight in the parking lot of a bar Saturday morning.
According to Scottsdale police Officer David Pubins, the three acquaintances met at Chasers Bar near Hayden Road and Roosevelt Street Saturday morning and got into a verbal fight that spilled out into the parking lot.
When the suspect attempted to get into the victims' vehicle, the altercation turned physical and the suspect shot one of the women in the arm. The women got the gun away from the suspect then drove to a Mesa hospital.
The suspect fled the scene on foot.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:45 a.m. Pubins said the officers found a man fitting the suspect description a short distance away and took him into custody without incident. He has been identified as Edward Martinez, 31, of the Salt River Indian Community.
Martinez was booked on two counts of aggravated assault, one count of disorderly conduct and one count of prohibited possession of a weapon.
Pubins said the 25-year-old victim suffered a non life-threatening arm injury.
