PRESCOTT VALLEY -- A Prescott Valley toddler died Sunday after apparently drowning in a bathtub.
Police and fire crews responded to a possible drowning at a home in the 5400 block of Pierce Drive at approximately 9:45 a.m. Sunday.
Prescott Valley police officers learned that the 2-year-old's mother and a male roommate found him unresponsive in a bathtub, according to Sgt. Brandon Bonney. They performed CPR until emergency personnel arrived and took over.
The child was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus where he was later pronounced dead.
Police and the Yavapai County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating the cause of death and the circumstances of how it occurred.
Police did not release any names in the case.
