Yuma teen accused of selling pot to younger student in school restroom

YUMA – A Yuma teen was arrested for allegedly selling marijuana to a younger teenager on school grounds.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office was called to Antelope High School on Thursday at about 1 p.m. after receiving a report of a subject who was selling marijuana on campus.

The sheriff’s deputy was told the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Jose-Chave-Roque, had been found selling pot to a 15-year-old student in one of the school restrooms.

A faculty member reportedly entered the restroom and interrupted the sale.

Roque was taken into custody and booked into the Yuma County Jail. He faces charges of sale of marijuana in a drug free school zone.

The younger teen was referred to the Yuma County Juvenile Center and faces charges of possession of marijuana in a drug free school zone.

Sheriff’s deputies confiscated about 6.5 grams of marijuana.
