PHOENIX -- Plan on windy conditions today and a lovely high temperature of a mere 79 degrees. Yes, 79 is the forecast. In mid-May! We should be in the mid to upper 90s this time of year.

A cold front moving through is responsible for both the cooler conditions and the wind. Most of the state, excluding Phoenix and Yuma, is under some kind of wind-related warning today.

The wind will likely be worst in northern and southeastern Arizona. The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a dust storm warning until 6 p.m. for the Little Colorado River Valley in Coconino and Navajo Counties.

The warning includes the cities of Winslow, Holbrook, Snowflake and Dilkon.

Southwest winds will last much of the day before decreasing Tuesday evening.

Elsewhere, a wind advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening in southeastern and southern Arizona for the cities of Clifton, Safford and Sierra vista.

Sustained southwest to west winds of 25 to 35 miles-an-hour with gusts to 45 miles-an-hour are expected.

The strongest winds will be in the southern White Mountains where winds of 30 to 35 miles-an-hour with gusts of 50 to 55 miles-an-hour are forecast.

Back in the Valley, plan on a clear and breezy evening with a low of 57 degrees.

We're starting a warming trend tomorrow that will take us to 83 on Wednesday, 89 on Thursday and 92 on Friday.

The weekend is looking sunny and warm -- 95 on Saturday and 98 on Sunday.
