MCSO asks for public's help to solve Litchfield Park murder

LITCHFIELD PARK -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is looking for information regarding a May 5 homicide in Litchfield Park.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Jovanny Tapia, 27, was shot multiple times while at a friend's house near El Mirage Road and Missouri Avenue.

Three Hispanic males wearing all black clothing and black ski masks reportedly forced entry into the residence shortly before midnight.

MCSO Detective Aaron Douglas said the suspects identified themselves verbally in English as police and later spoke in Spanish to the occupants before shooting Tapia to death.

No suspects or vehicles have been identified and the Sheriff's Office is looking for help from the public. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 602-876-1011.
