Friday deadline passes for early voting ballotsPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The deadline for requesting an early voting ballot for Arizona's May 18 special election is late Friday afternoon.
Voters seeking early ballots will have to request the ballots from their county recorder's office by 5 p.m. Friday.
The last day for voters to cast early ballots in person at special polling places is Friday, May 14.
Early ballots that aren't all ready mailed can be dropped off at county recorder offices or polling places on May 18.
The ballot will include the one-cent sales tax increase that was pushed by Gov. Jan Brewer and put on the ballot by the Legislature.
The measure would produce $1 billion annually to reduce big shortfalls projects in the state's budget for the next several years.
