DPS officers involved in short pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph

PHOENIX - Department of Public Safety officers have taken a suspect into custody after a short pursuit.

According to DPS, officers attempted to make a traffic stop on a blue sedan traveling westbound on State Route 101 near 35th Avenue.

The suspect vehicle failed to yield taking off on a chase that at times reached speeds near and above 100 MPH.

About seven minutes later the driver pulled into a commercial parking lot near 82nd Avenue just north of Loop 101 and was taken into custody.

Officers were seen going through the suspect's vehicle.

No word on his identity or what charges he might face.
