PHOENIX -- Phoenix police have arrested two teens in connection to a robbery and sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, the woman exited her car and was entering her apartment near 52nd and Roosevelt streets when two African American males approached and asked if she had seen their "homeboy."

When she told them that she did not know who they were talking about, the suspects forced their way into her apartment.

Phoenix police Detective James Holmes said the suspects bound the woman and sexually assaulted her.

Holmes said the suspects rummaged through the victim's apartment, taking her her purse, car keys and other property, then fled the area in her Hyundai Elantra.

The victim told police she did not know the suspects.

Officers were able to locate the victim's vehicle in the area of 52nd and Taylor streets. Some of the property that had been removed from the victim's apartment was also found near the car.

On Wednesday, detectives established probable cause to arrest Tye Tytwin, 19, and a 15-year-old boy for the crime. Tytwin was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail for sexual assault and related charges. The teen was detained at the Juvenile Correction Center for the same charges.

The investigation revealed that the suspects either lived or frequented the apartment complex just south of the victim's home.

Holmes said it is not clear if this was a crime of opportunity or a planned attack.
