I-10 fatality; Golf Links improvements

Posted: Updated:

One person died in a three-vehicle collision on Interstate-10 in Pinal County Monday.

The driver of a semi slowed down for traffic when the driver of a Saturn behind it swerved into a wall, then back into the tractor/trailer.

A pickup truck then collided with the Saturn.

The driver of the Saturn died, 58-year-old Dorothy Borrego of Marana.

No one else was injured. Traffic shut down for for about 3 hours in the eastbound lanes.

A heads up for anyone who uses Golf Links -- and some good news. The city began resurfacing work on the major east-west thoroughfare Monday.

All this week -- after 6 O'clock in the evening -- crews will be re-milling the surface between Swan and Craycroft.

After that, they'll move to the Swan to Alvernon portion.

A lot of potholes and rough stretches had developed on the road.
