National discussion of Arizona immigration lawPosted: Updated:
Arizona's new immigration law was the topic of discussion on national shows Sunday morning.
Former Arizona governor and current Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says the federal government is working to secure our state's borders, contrary to what critics are saying.
Napolitano went on to say Arizona's immigration bill is bad for law enforcement because it takes them away from crimes in their own communities, and puts them at higher risk.
And she's not the only public figure speaking out against it. Vice President Joe Biden spoke at a democratic fundraiser in Phoenix Saturday night. He said Arizona shouldn't be taking the immigration crackdown into its own hands and added the federal government needs to step up.
