Antonio Estrada, SCC Sheriff, says if Proposition 100 is rejected by voters May 18, it could have an impact on the SCC jail.  He says if it fails, the State has said it will return prisoners from Sate prisons back to local jurisdictions.  Estrada says that would mean an additional 50 prisoners would have to be housed at the SCC jail, which he says is already overcrowded.  He says the new jail won’t be ready in time.
