PHOENIX (AP) — Overnight construction on Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson begins the evening of Sunday, May 9.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said crews will be making repairs on the I-10 bridges over the Gila River south of Phoenix.
ADOT said the repair work is expected to be completed in July.
I-10 will be narrowed to one lane in either direction while crews are working on the Gila River bridges, approximately 30 miles southeast of Phoenix.
Work will be limited to one direction at a time. Initial repairs are scheduled to occur along the eastbound lanes.
The I-10 lane restrictions are Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday night restrictions will end by 5 a.m. each Friday.
I-10 will be open to two lanes in both directions when crews are not making repairs.
