CASA GRANDE – Border agents arrested an undocumented immigrant convicted on charges involving involuntary manslaughter and indecency with a child.

U.S. Border Patrol agents working in the Casa Grande sector took the man into custody after learning of his criminal history through the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).

A news release from USBP indicates the man was originally charged with murder but was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years in a Texas prison. He was also sentenced to four years of probation.

The news release also says, “Murderers and sex offenders are among the criminal aliens who persistently attempt to enter the United States illegally. IAFIS technology assists agents in identifying these and other criminal aliens in custody.”

The man is being held for prosecution.
