CASA GRANDE – Over 100 bundles of marijuana were found abandoned after border agents observed what they considered a suspicious vehicle.

Agents from the Casa Grande sector patrolling a remote area on Monday noticed a vehicle traveling north.

The Customs and Border Protection Office of Air and Marine (OAM) were contacted to provide air support and was able to give agents a description of the vehicle.

Border agents found the abandoned car and discovered 104 bundles of pot inside.

The total amount of marijuana reportedly weighed over 2,100 pounds and had an estimated street value of over $1.6 million.

A news release from USBP indicates the cooperation between Customs partners such as OAM shows positive results in the fight to eliminate drugs from reaching communities.
